Current Toyota Vehicles
There are many different models of Toyota vehicles that are currently on the market. One of these vehicles is the Toyota 4 Runner. It has been in production since 1984. It is also known as the Toyota Hilux Surf in Japan. This is a mid-sized SUV, and was originally a little bigger than the Toyota pickup truck.
The Hilux Surf Model is not only sold in Japan, it is also exported to Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Somalia, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland.
The Toyota Avalon has been in production since 1995. It is also sold in Japan as a Toyota Pronard. The Avalon is a full sized car that is sold in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Middle East. The very first Avalon rolled off of the production line in Georgetown, Kentucky in 1994 for the 1995 model year.
The Avalon was marketed as a replacement model for the Toyota Cressida. The Cressida was discontinued in the early 1990s, and it was an upper level midsized car. However, recently the Avalon has faced overlapping with other models such as the Toyota Camry and the Lexus ES model.
The Toyota Camry has been in production since 1983. It has spanned several generations, and was originally a compact model. Over the years, it has expanded into a mid-size or wide body model. In fact, these two different model types coexisted in the early 1990s.
The Aurion is a midsized model that is produced in Australia and some parts of Asia. It has been in production since 2006. It is now a second generation model, and is considered to be the equivalent of the Toyota Camry.
Previous Production Toyota Vehicles
The Toyota 2000GTwas produced from 1967 to 1970. It was a limited production vehicle that had a front engine and a rear wheel drive. The 2000GT was a two door coupe that was developed as joint effort between Toyota and Yamaha.
This vehicle was responsible for revolutionizing the way the world perceived Japan’s automotive influence and importance. It was a high performance fastback that could rival the sports car that was being manufactured in Europe at the time.
The Toyota Altezza was in production from 1998 to 2005. It was also sold under the Lexus brand as the Lexus IS. It was produced to be a direct competitor for the luxury brands that were being produced in the European market at the time. It had a much better performance than other models that were being exported from Japan.
The Toyota Celica was in production from 1970 to 2006. During every generation, the Celica got its power from 4 cylinder engines. The only major significant change that was made under the hood was that the car was switched from a rear wheel drive vehicle to a front wheel vehicle.
The Toyota Cressida was produced from 1973 to 1992. It was a four generation model and was the exported model of the Mark II that was sold for Japanese customers.
Toyota also has several concept vehicles that are or have been at various stages of development. Some of these vehicles are:
• Toyota 1/X
• Toyota A1
• Toyota Century GT45
• Toyota Corona 1500S Convertible
• Toyota Commuter
